 BEREAN's FORUM MUSICUM

Berean Academy offers the highest possible level of private music instruction.  Our music faculty fosters a strong, well-rounded understanding of music while nurturing the gifts that God has given each student. All our after-school music faculty are highly accomplished musicians and performers on their instruments.  Each performs regularly with various groups in the greater west Florida area. Lessons will be provided on campus in the upper school wing of the building.  Parents are responsible for providing transportation to and from all lessons.

Berean students may pursue private instruction with these teachers:

DANIEL JOINER / Classical & Jazz Piano
Daniel is a graduate student at the University of South Florida. While working as a graduate assistant at USF, he is pursuing his Master’s Degree in Jazz Studies in Piano Performance. While attending high school in DeLand Florida, he studied jazz and classical piano with Harold Blanchard. Daniel continued to study classical piano with Dr. Michael Rickman at Stetson University, where he received his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance. RYAN STREET / Guitar

A graduate of East TN State University, where he studied under top bluegrass instructors on mandolin and acoustic guitar, Ryan has been in the Tampa Bay area for six years. Founder and lead rhythm guitarist of the group 11:28, Ryan heads up the independent worship ministry of 11:28 and he serves on the worship team at Lifepoint Church. You can learn more about Ryan and 11:28 at www.myspace.com/1128worship.

EMILY NOELLE WILSON  /  Piano
Emily has played the piano for 14 years, and began her teaching career at the age of 14. She is presently teaching piano lessons at The Centre at Idlewild Baptist Church, and also through her own piano studio. She graduated from the University of South Florida with a Minor in Music Academic Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal Communication. Her philosophy for teaching piano is four-fold and designed to be applicable in all aspects of life: 1) to teach discipline; 2) to teach problem-solving skills; 3) to challenge the “low expectations” inherent in most, if not all, individuals; and 4) to teach a language with which to express one’s heart. She enjoys encouraging her students to perform their best, watching them achieve what they at first thought they could not, and bringing smiles to their faces. She also enjoys playing the piano monthly for Idlewild, and playing percussion regularly in Idlewild’s orchestra.

The goal of glorifying God spares Christian artists...
from either overvaluing or undervaluing their artistic experiences.
