BEREAN STATEMENT OF FAITH
We live in a time when opinions have replaced absolutes. Consequently, subscribing to a statement of faith is not fashionable. However, at Berean Academy it is essential to the mission of the school that all faculty, staff and board members subscribe to a statement of faith that reflects biblical absolutes. Therefore the Berean board, faculty and staff boldly affirm that:
-
there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent;
-
the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully man, is demonstrated in His virgin birth, His miracles and His sinless life and that He is the Christ of Old Testament prophecy;
-
the Triune God created man in His own image to reflect holiness by obedience to His commandments. Humanity has fallen in this responsibility, entered a state of moral corruption, is estranged from its Creator, and lost eternally;
-
salvation from eternal punishment and restoration of fellowship with God is secured only by His grace through faith in Christ, who bore our sins in His own body on the cross. Only by receiving Christ, through the Person of the Holy Spirit into one’s inner being, is a person justified before God;
