BEREAN ACADEMY began when several families who learned about classical and Christian education set out to make it a reality in Tampa. Berean began its first year in the fall of 1995 as a "one room schoolhouse" with eleven students in kindergarten through third grade. The school graduated its first senior class in May 2006. We recently moved into our new campus in north Tampa while opening a satellite campus in south Tampa that began classes in August 2008. Berean Academy is an accredited member of the Association of Classical and Christian Schools (ACCS), which numbers over 200 member schools nationwide.*

Following this rise in popularity and excellence has come the rigorous accreditation process of the ACCS. Fewer than 10% of ACCS schools have successfully completed this process.
